Recently added Advanblack lower fairings and will be using the advanblack lower speaker 6.5 pods on my 23 highway King.
Im not looking to win any audio competitions, just looking to add some tunes to cruising with the wife - as well as hoping to be able to hear the audio at higher/highway speeds.
Ideally I know that only (2) 6.5s in the lower fairings will not be the "best" audio setup however was thinking the right speakers and add would do the job just fine.
My dillema is this-
I really dont want to mount an amp in the saddle bags!
Does anyone have suggestions/examples for a full range set of 6.5s in the lowers as well as amp and placement for this? My plan would be to control the audio directly from my phone into a bluetooth amplifier so the thought was i need to buy an amp with bluetooth capability and a neighbor of mine suggests I run a 1ohm stable 500.1 with 2 speakers that are 2 ohm each to bring down to 1ohm for most power/clarity?
Excuse me please I may not be using the correct terms but i am capable of installing and setting it up - just need some help on what to use?
I would run a set of DB moto CD 6.5 speakers off a Soundigital 400.4 and a JL Audio BT controller.
Speakers are loud without a lot of power. If you wanted a little more thump but not as loud, then I would do a set of GZ 6.5 coax.
The SD 400.4 is a tiny amp that wont take up much room.
If you do NOT have ABS, you can mount up to a 1200.4 in the side cover, brake side.
Pulled
trigger today and ordered Hertz 6.5s Mille pro mpx 1653 and a wetsounds STX micro 4. Plan on making a mount to park amp between saddle bags and rear valance. Coming in next week excited to add some tunes to the bike .
You managed to buy the 2 items that no one here would have recommended. Let us know how you like the setup.
well hopefully that turns out good!
I got a little feedback from
the forum (above) and from another member in private message- and a neighbor whos a audio junkie with experience on sxS and golf carts.

here we go!
Interesting that your audio guy and or whoever else recommended a car audio speaker for a 2 speaker only setup on a motorcycle .
That Hertz is a great .. car speaker. Not so much bike speaker.
I would never recommended a 92db sensitivity speaker for a 2 speakers only setup on a bike.

thanks for that - would you help me understand the db rating on speakers? Like I said Im mechanically inclined but not too much on the tech side of the speakers/stereo
I was also worried they are rubber surround with paper cones , seems paper would be a bad deal too

Here's a decent explanation of DB ratings/sensitivity
