Default Question from Newbie

Hi.

I want to first of all day things to everyone that has posted on this forum. The numerous previous post that I have only begun read have given me a vast array of knowledge no one single person could ever possess and while I have been on this site a while constantly reading, I’ve never really ever had to post any content. So again I want to say Thank You to everyone.

The main reason I am putting a post on here is a very basic question. But one that I can’t really find the answer to. So here is my question

Ive got a 2022 ultra limited. Its not exactly stock. It’s my half daily driver for say. I ride it everywhere just as much as I drive my truck no matter what the weather conditions are within reason. I’m not going to take it out in a blizzard, or a torrential hurricane, but I’ve gotten caught in the rain plenty of times and thanks to cold weather gear I don’t mind riding in sub-freezing temps. With that in mind, it’s gotten a new exhaust, a new breather, gotten an ecm programmer, I’ve had some suspension work done. About to get another saddle, get saddlebag inserts, so forth y’all get the idea.

I’m going to change the audio completely on this bike. I’ve read a bunch of post on brands, what to buy, how to set up a system, what to do and what not to do. I’ve watched a ton of videos. There is a thousand different ways I could go about setting up an audio system and everyone has an opinion on and no one particular person is right and no one particular person is wrong. To each there on. I do know I’m keeping the stock head unit due to my having the wireless headsets with the whim, xm radio, and the cb radio installed. Of course I’m going to get it flashed.

All I do is ride. I don’t park my bike and show it off, I will never see a competition. I just want to be able to here the damn radio over my pipes at 80mph. Pretty simple. I’d love good highs with lots of bass at 80mph. I also realize I’m on a motorcycle and not in my truck with the two loud *** 10’s in it. Just giving anyone a reference point

1). Is this an unrealistic expectation.
2). Would subwoofers (whether it be 8’s or 10’s. And yes I’m referring to mid bass subs. I know realistically true subwoofers do not perform well in saddlebags) in the bags really worth it (would I honestly hear them) or is it more for sitting still trying to show off which is not what I’m about.

If you're looking for decent sound while moving at highway speeds and not when parked in a sound competition then forget about installing subs. Instead, invest in another set of speakers for your lowers. You'll need to add adapters to the lowers to do that. I use these ones from Hogtunes and I think they are excellent in fit, finish, and functionality.

Good luck!

Please tell me everything you did for the cb radio I stall. Specifically where you got the module and all the other parts. I'm hitting roadblocks each way I turn.
Thanks, Jeff
