OK ,, so if that was using a 1000hz tone, take 30.63 x .7071 = 21.66 x 21.66 = 469 divided by 4 = 117.29w RMS at an unknown THD% ,,, but probably less than 10%, which is where you will certainly notice it with your ears,,,

OK well the rabbit hole just got even deeper if this actually true.
This means essentially every single amp (including the ones you sell) don't play at the advertised voltage...not even close.
Do a little research on the internet, on how the CEA standard was established for RMS amplifier ratings, many years ago, and then we can begin our testing again.
I can tell you that a more practical way to compare amps in the Harley environment, is to establish an identical track of music from the radio, with a good decibel meter, in a consistent spot over the seat, interchange 4-ch amps, one after another, adjusting input gains up to just the point of sounding ratty, to get the max out of each one ,,,, and record the decibel level readings ,,,, that will also open a great many eyes ,,
@Buelligan666 looking forward to seeing how it works for you and what voltage level you're able to get prior to clipping. Are you going to run a DSP? If so which one? I've used bot the Daytona Audio DSP-408 and the Mini HK. Both are good units, but the size of the Mini HK is what sold me this go around. I had the Dayton DSP in my '15 Ultra Low but was only running one amp. I'll ultimately be running 2 amps in the CVO Street Glide and needed the extra space the Mini HK provides.

I think that DSPs are a great addition, but remember, here at JMCorp, we supply 100% plug-n-play ROKKER speaker/amp kits that are simple to install, and do not require ANY modifications to the radio, the motorcycle, the wiring or the electrical system.
And still provide the customer with an audio system that they can be proud to use on the highway at high speeds and show-off a little during tail-gate parties.

Yes. Cicada DSP88V2, It will fit right on top the headunit. This is in a 12 Road Glide. I'm excited to get it put in. I have to pull new 4awg battery and ground cables. I have 8awg in there now. I have an oscilloscope. Everything except the amp and DSP are installed and ready. I'm hoping I will avoid needing a second amp. Regardless I will have to be satisfied with it for awhile. It will be an improvement over the PN4.1000 that's been in the fairing for 7 years.
I am looking at this amp as well but what gets me is all the higher end amps like SD 1200.4 or hertz or ARC audio,Focal FDP is not putting out 240X4@ 4 ohms if find it strange that an amp that cheap is putting out that kind of power compared to the bigger companies.Hard to find good user reviews not many out there.
Power output is only a very small part of the equation. You have to consider things like signal to noise ratio, damping factor, efficiency and other things to get the complete picture of an amplifier. DS18 is loud, other than that, not much else. I have not researched the micro amplifiers yet as this will be the last thing I do to my bike after paint and motor work, but bottom line, usually you get what you pay for as with most things.
Amp arrived today. Hopefully by Sunday night it's in and tuned. I'll keep everyone posted. Unbelievable how small they can make them these days.
I just got the ION 1600.4 and 1000.4, I powered up the 1000.4 and I was wondering what color the light should be when it’s turned on. I’m seeing a blue light and the manual doesn’t mention anything about a blue light, just green or red

Can't speak to the 1000, but the 1600 is red on mine when operating.
@harley7316 Here's a link. Not the best recording, will work on getting a better one this weekend or DM me and we I can send via other means a much better clip.
