Awesome. How do you like the CXXs?
the 6.5 and 5x7/6x9 are favorites of mine.
And other thing I liked about to the CXX line is the weatherproofing plus the lower cost. At the time I got them at about 20% off so so they were half the price of CHX equals.
I'm running a cicada 1400 amp and I have 4 ohm Arc coaxial speakers in the fairing and 2 ohm Cicada CXX69 speakers in the bags. It's a perfect balance as I don't need more power in the fairing as about 175 watts up front works with 4ohm but I run about 250+ to the rears with 2ohm and I the7 are loud at 80+ miles an hour. I had 4 ohms in the bags but I would lose them at speed. Crossovers are set at 110hz front and 130hz bags. The fade feature does come in handy to have times.
I was running the Mmats 6.5 in the fairing with Mmats 6x9s in the lids with a Hertz 4.5 600 watt amp. No dsp. Sounded great, but couldnt hear the lids at speed. I changed out all the speakers to Cicadas. 4 ohm midbass 6.5s in rhe fairing with Cicada tweeter grills. I also went with the 2 ohm CXX 6x9s in the lids. I was planning on changing out the Hertz amp with something bigger at a later date, but even though Im way under powered, my set up sounds great. I can hear the 6x9s at 70. I have a dsp in the box and will put it in one day, but every time I ride I tell myself dont mess with it.

What made you decide to go with 2ohm in the kids but not in the fairing ?
Yes on the tweeter grills , but the 6.5s are the CMs. I like them a lot. The sound quality is excellent They are rated for 250 watts rms, and my amp has no where near that, but they are still loud, clear and not too bright.

i saw one of NVS audios video's and he had mentioned putting the 2 ohm in the rear to hear them better. I wanted a project, so I picked up a set to try. I was pleasantly surprised at how much louder they were over the 4 ohm Mmats. I left the fronts 4 ohm so as not to drown out the rears. It works for me.

Yeah man, that's a good combo. The CMX are even nicer.
And you are correct, those speakers don't need a ton of power.
