Default New Audio Upgrade

I wanted to get some upgrades for the audio on my '13 street glide due to the system completely failing and needing replacement. I am currently looking at replacing the stereo with a Boss Audio Elite BEHDIN98, the amplifier with JL Audio MX500/4, the front fairing speakers with PowerBass XL-62SS 6 1/2" speakers with adapters from 5.25in to 6.5in, and adding lower fairings with speaker pods and another set of 6.5in powerbass speakers. I'm looking at spending around $1300 for the upgrades and wanna get y'alls opinion on the items and if y'all have experiences with these products.

For $1300 just for equipment, you can get much better and louder equipment. The JL amp is one of the best amps on the market, but it lacks power for motorcycles (unless using it just for 2 speakers). Powerbass speakers are meh, at best. Not loud enough.

I would suggest a MMats setup:
-Mmats 900.4 $500
-(4) Mmat pa601.cx $600
-Sony DSX-M55Bt radio and thumb control $200
-Wiring, adapaters another $150
$1450 and will be so much louder and better sounding than the Powerbass setup

I can point in the right direction to order equipment also.

Do the mmat speakers retain the the weather proof ability that the Powerbass speakers have?

yes, when you order the mmats just add waterproofing. Ran them for 5 years all weather and had zero issues. Mmats are proven reliable starter speakers. Powerbass are the Kmart kraco’s of this day and age.

They are not as waterproof as the Powerbass, They are marine treated and withstand the weather. As DarkKevin stated, lots of riders using these proven reliable speakers.
