I bought my bike ('07 FLHX) used and it has the OEM HK Radio and the HD Boom Audio Speakers (the kind with the tweeter built into the grill). I wanted some clearer, crisper sound, so I'm considering an amp. Would I see any real sound improvement with the amp using the Boom speakers (as opposed to the speakers with no amp)? I plan on eventually upgrading the speakers, but that's as the funds come about, so I figure I'd do the amp for now since I already have the upgraded speakers.
Any suggestions on the amp? And then any suggestions on speakers for the future upgrade?
If you want to keep it simple plug and play get the boom audio amp. I just had this installed yesterday and I'm using the boom fairing speakers along with the saddlebag lid speakers. Very impressed with the volume, sound quality and bass from this system, you may decide not to change out your fairing speakers
