This weekend, I plan on upgrading my stereo, I'm going with the masterful, UltraNutZ selection.
Now, I'm thinking, since I'm going to be upgrading, should I just add lowers now? If so, which? I'd like to find a set that's not to big and bulky. I will be using Polk DB651 speakers.
Finally, since I just had the inner fairing painted, I wonder if I should hold off for a few weeks and then have the lowers painted to match the inner fairing. Otherwise, the different blacks will crash.
I think the lowers vented or non-vented have to come from HD. the upper piece (speaker box) you can get from just about anywhere. Most folks seem to be choosing the CVO pods because of the way they fit and the way the speakers fit inside the recessed holes. I think you'll be forced to not use the polk grills on the lowers though and instead opt for the Focal grills or the HD CVO grills. Both of those will fit without interfering with the tweeter on polks.
As for paint, if you bring it to the same guy, he should be able to match it perfectly whether it's today or 3 weeks from now.
UltraNutZ,
I'm a bit embarassed because yesterday, you asked me if I'm going to do lowers and like a horses ***, I said no. It's as if you knew what I wanted. lol.
no problem but I do suggest we go a different route than previously discussed if you're going to use lowers. The instructions I sent you will still be the same (for the most part) but I think we should discuss this a bit more...
