i have the stock speaker on my bike EGC, i want to upgrade just the fairing front speaker with Polk Audio MM651 and put a Soundstream pn2.520
ampli ...what do you think about this setup. any suggestion will be appreciate
thnx
if you're only going to run 2 speakers, my suggestion would be use the Titan II, Hertz, or Focal 4 ohm speakers. This way you can bridge the amp to 2 channels and retain full output power at a 4ohm load.
If you plan to add more speakers, or you already have installed more than the front speakers, we need to know this for a different suggestion and configuration
if you can wait a couple of weeks (when it's released), I'd go with the Soundstream PN2.350D on your fairing speakers and leave the rears connected as they are now to the rear outputs of your radio.
If you swap out the rear stock speakers with say another pair of MM651, then I would go the route of the PN4.520D and run your front speakers off the front of the amp, the rear speakers off the rear of the amp, and when not in use, the rears being disconnected won't have any effect on the fronts.
well.. you're not going to be able to get the full output power of that amp with those speakers because they are 2 ohm speakers and you're only going to be able to run 2 channels at a 2 ohm load. if you go with 4 ohm speakers then you can bridge the 4 channels into 2 channels (R & L) and get full output power. In the 4 ohm configuration, I'd recommend using either the Titan II, Hertz, or Focal speakers and whichever way you go, make sure you wrap those speakers with polyfil.
