Don't know if can do it with Polks but I saw a member custom cut the Focal grills retaining emblem with tin snips and they looked good! Thinking about doing it myself. See below link.
the material for the stock speakers is an acoustic material so unless you go to some fabric store locally, you'll have a hard time finding it. You can order it online though. A local car stereo shop should have the material as well or some flat grills that you can cut..
I was able to find a guy selling stock speakers on Craigslist. I called him and he had the grills. 10.00 and I have the polks and the grills installed. I like the new speakers more than my Booms. Which I had blown the tweeter, but not sure I have the gains set correct, it seems like I am getting distortion on the base, but if I leave it flat its ok. i did set the gains IAW with the sticky, but by ear can be questionable.
The only other thing I notices is that for some reason it seems like the clutch side speaker is fading in and out. I have to pull the fairing again, because I must have bumped my fuel LED so I will re-check the wires then.
I am pretty happy with the set up and my new speakers.
