Hello, new to the forum (New member). I have been reading post after post concerning speakers and Amps. I've decided on the Polk MM651's for my fairing and the MM691's for my saddlebags using the CycleSound brand lids. The hardest part of this whole deal is what amp to push these speakers. I already have a 2 channel Hogtunes amp I was considering to push my fronts, but I'm unsure to go with another two channel or just save this amp for something in the future and buy a 4 channel amp. If I go with the 4 channel. Which would be the best to push these great speakers. Soundstream, Alpine, Kickker, etc? Does anyone know if the Soundstream Stealth will fit in the fairing? Any help from anyone would be well appreciated. Thanks DK

To start, Welcome to the forum...Your starting off right. Those polk speakers are great. Your going to have a great sounding system once you choose and amp. Any of the amp manufactures you mentioned are great, but I can tell you the Soundstream Stealth will not fit in the faring. Most of us on here have gone with the Soundstream Picasso Nano PN4.520D. Others have used Rockford Fostgate PBR amps with great success. However for your application, running those speakers (2ohm) you'd need two 2-channel PBR amps to run your speakers as RF doesn't make a 4 channel PBR thats stable at 2ohms.

Thank you for the welcome and your input. I'm almost leaning towards the J&M 500w amp. It says it will push 125x4 @2ohm. I've found a decent deal on one, so now I'm thinking this way. It more than I want to spend, but I'm so endecided and only want to buy one and not keep buying until I find THE one. I also seen the SS Tarantula compact, but at least with the J&M it will have all the plug and play and give me the fade from front to back to mix it with. My only concern is that this amp (J&M) is already pre-set and has no adjustments. Should I be concerned about this? Thanks again for your input.

it's a good amp and is manufactured by ARC Audio.

this amp does have gain, crossover, and frequency adjustments. There is a plastic rain cover on the top of the amp covering the fan. If you remove that cover all your adjustments are there. Just make sure to put the cover back on the way you took it off.

The sound stream and PPI 4 channel are 2ohm stable per channel . They are 4x135@2ohm or the smaller one is 4x80@2ohm. These can be had for around $125 shipped on eBay.
Thanks guys for your input. I actually got a god deal on the Jamp 500w amp from J&M and already purchased the lids. So I'm running the Sony DSX-S310BTX head unit with the new Rokker 7.25 XT up front and the Polk MM691 in the Saddlebags along with HogTunes Tweeter pods on dash. Thanks again from the newbie who is working in Indonesia and making all these decision from 9000 miles away. I will be home in August, so hopefully with this system you will hear me coming and know I'm home!
