frequency setting for PBM300x2
Ok, I roughed in the Polk audio speakers and the RF amp and everything sounds great! I'll clean up the install tomorrow, but I'm not sure what setting the frequency should be. I set the gain to 5 as recommended and the system sounds awesome! I can't wait to put it all together and hear it on the open road!
I'm also curious to see what others have the amp set at. I recently did the same install on a 2013 flhx and I'm not crazy about it. I plan on pulling the fairing and checking the wires and settings next week. On my last bike I had the J&M system and it blew away my current polks and RF amp.
After working a 28 hour shift, I just had to hear it one more time and DAMN! this baby rocks! I think I'll wait till tomorrow to hard wire this baby in. After 4 IPA's I think my girl deserves some clean sober attention. This is going to be a fun ride to Sturgis and I guess I'll leave the factory frequency setting on as it really rocks my garage!
I have my RF PBR300x2 set to HP with freq between 60-80hz and gain at 5. This set-up sounds the best to me with classic/hard rock. In my experience AP allows a little to much bass to pass to the speaker causing distortion earlier. Either way, common sense with volume is the main thing and NEVER set the AVC past two bars if you want to preserve the speakers.

Oh yeah. This is totally the ticket! Great sound and no distortion! Thanks so much for your help! Of course this is just static display sound. I can't wait to put her all together and give a fair on the road critique of this setup. Thanks for your help!

Don't forget to wrap the speakers with Poly-Fil before you button the fairing up. It will make a big difference in overall sound quality.

When I adjusted the pots I did notice they turn very easily and with all the vibration on the bike I just wonder over time if they will "adjust themselves" some on their own. I am thinking about putting a dab of silicone on the pots to keep them from turning. Just a dab between the pot and the case. Will easily come off for future adjustments.
May be an overkill but what do you guys think?
They won't go anywhere. The type of vibration the bike has won't impact them. Had my fairing off today to play with my gains a bit and they were right where I left them when I installed it. I would be leery of sticking silicone in there and have it gum something up, even if it is just a little.
