Well last night I put my 7.1 in after issues with the polk mm651 .i used my existing ss520 amp and put the gain to about half throttle and I'm pretty impressed with the sound so far they may not be as loud as the the polk but I also turned the gain back a little so far impressed now to order the speaker lids and try them out before I paint them. I talked to biketronics and they said there gonna get a hog tunes speaker lid with their matching hat 6x9. Think I'm gonna give that a try

I'm looking at doing the same thing. I'm impressed with the titans in the fairing. I actually think they are louder than my polls were, but that could be just me.
+2 on that! Just put the 7.1s in a month ago & I love 'em. Looking to ad the lids with 6x9s next. then I can have 4 speakers when going solo and get rid of the pods on the tourpak so I won't have to mess with the wiring every time I attach or detach it.

Leave em! There's a thread in the touring forum on how to make the tour pack 100% quick detach. It involves ordering some connectors from the dealer or drag specialties. Makes everything easy peasy. I'd post the thread link but I'm on my mobile at the moment. I'll post it later on if no one does before hand.
Just gonna tag along here rather than start a new thread...fried the polks on the way to Sturgis, they did sound great but I truley think I over cooked them...so not really their fault in my ind now but... Installed the 7.1 yesterday , lowered the gains and also have heard you should kinda "break em in" a little before really cranking it. Allows the membrane and stff to loosen up a bit..
I agree they are not as loud and crisp as the Polks as some say...but we will see in a few weeks what they got...
been running them for a couple of months now in the fairing. like them so much my rear tourpak pods with 7.1" will be here tomorrow to replace the stock pods. I'll follow up with you guys on that sometime this weekend.
still got em on there.. working perfectly fine.. just wanted to try the 7.1" back there and it also serves a dual purpose.. get rid of those passenger controls as well.
Love my 7.1's as well. I went for a 1700km trip immediately after installing them, music playing the whole time, and had no issues. Great sound, improved quality, and impressive volume.
