Sagido.. it might be an issue with placement of the antenna sir. I'm around Houston and have ridden west, east, north, south and I have no issues whatsoever. I heavily rely on the weather piece of the GPS but XM works perfect as well. Needs to be as high in the top of the inside fairing as possible. I see a lot of folks putting them right on top of a CB module or iPod module. IMO that's too low in the fairing. Get some velcro and velcro it to the top of your speedo or tach gauge.
Mine is fairing mounted (HD kit). If I had to do it over again I probably wouldn't do the fairing mount. Only cause once you drill the giant hole needed to pass the zumo wiring harness through, it's permeant.
I agree. I wish I had thought about this a little more before I went through it all because in hindsight I think I would have probably gone with a custom inner fairing that is double-din and put a double-din audio/nav setup in. I might still do that.. Damn I gotta stop spending $ on audio! LOL
