To the best of my knowledge, I'm one level back on my software for the head unit on my '14 SGS. I'm doing the standard RF PBR300X2 and the Infinity Kappa's like a lot of other folks on here. I already added some polyfill last fall so I'm good there... And I've read and read and read......
So have we decided on the magic box vs. dealer flash?
Inside the pod or outside?
Port the pods?
I'm not trying to short circuit my responsibility to read (and re-read) this thread but I'm just wanting to get to work on it now that the winter might be ending in this godforsaken place called Western NY....
I swore with this bike, I wasn't going to do a lot of mods....... Keep it simple, I said.....

I don't like to spend money on a "magic box" that may work or not.
The flash debate is ongoing. This thread has the best information I have seen yet, but am holding off until UltraNutz is done with his experiment.
Inside the pod or outside?
Some, not many have said installing on the outside increases sound quality. I have not read the opposite. UltraNutz is going to test this also.
The best way to go IMO is to junk the pods and go with the BT speakers and mounting plates. The mounting plates are designed for 7.1" speakers so it would take mods to get smaller speakers to fit.
Port the pods?
Again, from what I have read the answer is no. Little or no sound quality impromement. Not to mention these pods are very brittle and cutting them up doesn't sound like a good idea to me.
I know how to check it when the bike is off but how do you check it when the bikes running. Thanks
While the switch is off hold down the mute button. Turn on switch and press starter button while continuing to hold mute. When the accept prompt comes onto infotainment screen press it then release mute.
