just finished installing a pbr300x2 and the infinity kappas on my 14 street glide and im disappointed. i used the cycle sounds magic box with the rca's and no dealer reflash.Speakers mounted inside the boxes. i thought it was gonna be a lot louder than this, not much better than stock.

does it make a huge difference switching to the high level input and eliminating the rca's?

kinda what i figured...is there a better amp out there...rather not go cutting up harnesses...been looking at the arc audio ks 125.2 mini or has anyone had any experience with the new 4channel cycle sounds amp? Ed there had a lot of good to say about it and its price is attractive.

Not much better than stock? What software version are you running? What is your gain set at? Are you sure you have the polarity correct on the speakers? Is the BRT light on the amp coming on with the volume turned up? I have the exact same set up and I will never win an audio contest but it's WAY better than stock. At times while riding I have to turn it down from 4 bars from max because it's hurting my ears! What are you using for an audio source? Try removing the magic box and see how it sounds.

Not sure what software is in it haven't changed it since I bought it last may. BRT light starts flickering at 3/4 volume with gain set at around 5-6ish Then starts sounding crappy. I'm gona try taking the box out and switching to high level inputs on my next day off.

Let me know how that works with out the box. I am seriously thinking about doing the same just to see how it sounds. I would need to order a new amp connector to cut the RCA's off and I want a new one here in case I need to reinstall the box. I just helped a buddy install a PBR300x2 and Kappas on his 2013 Ultra and it sounds ALOT better than mine. My gain is at 9 his is only at 5. So I know something isn't right. Don't get me wrong, Mine still is MUCH better than stock but I am definitely missing out on this combos full potential...

Is an amp really needed? Replacing the original speakers with the Infinity 62.11i’s really made a big difference; very loud (for just 2 spkr), lots of bass and crystal clear highs, well that is as long as they’re mounted on the outside of the pod. No matter what I do when I put those suckers in the pod it sounds like I have two blown speakers. The bass is gone and everything is muffled. I’ve tried every one of the mods that has been shared here, and worked for others, but I have had no luck when mounting them in those PIA PODS. All that I wish for now is that adding the amp (PBR300x2) makes it even better sounding.

I'm at the same place you are. I have the amp ready to go and still have the fairing off... just waiting to see where this "flash" issue goes to determine if it's worth taking the next step. Like you, I'm pretty happy with the Kappa's alone (outside of pods and in the rear tour pack). Plenty of base and range. I do wonder though if it could be even better with the amp

Rock Woody, there have been a couple on here that have said that they added the amp with no flash and they were very happy with the sound. I guess that's what I'm hoping for. I picked up my amp power wires yesterday and got one of those big *** fuse holders online so next week I'll do the install and see what happens. But today it's all back together 'cause we've "gotta" ride; it's going to be 75* here today and tomorrow. Those three bottom POD bolts are getting easier all the time.
