Kirk, glad you were able to find that ground! FHLXS, I would not want the AVC control to work. The DSP changes with volume and if you have a working AVC you will change the DSP. Keep it at 0 and lower the volume manually as you come to a stop. I think it is worth the inconvenience to have a stereo that sounds good.
Thanks for the tip, I'll give that a try. Is there only one adjustment or multiple? You went maxed out and then just backed off, correct?
Just two adjustment screws, 1 for each speaker, there preset at half from biketronics, I turned them all the way up then back a hair. One thing I haven't done is take it for a ride or start it up while listening/adjusting it. I really hope it doesn't effect the sound quality, cross my fingers.

This is so hit and miss depending on model of bike and gear. I have not flashed (granted old HU software) and no magic box and I have great sound. Bass, treble and AVC all work and I have kickin bass. I don't have fader control but left speaker feeds front channel and right feeds back channel of the amp. Did not look but I don't think I have a balance control. If I do that would fade lol. Only "problem" is at 1 dot it is a little loud just in the garage if I'm working and want to talk. I can't turn it down anymore. Have not had to go above half when riding.

I did adjust the a speed setting to 0,it was at -20 before, I'm guessing that is for the AVC setting? I might have to set it back to -20 to see if it works still or not, didnt try that yet. Minnesota weather just took a crap again. Thanks for the insight
I installed the RF PBR300x2 and Infinity Kappa 62.11i speakers this weekend on my Road Glide Special. I set the gain to 5 and set it to all pass. Turned it on and had a lot of distortion. Set it to high pass and it was better, but still had distortion.
I ran down to the dealer and had them flash it according to the recommendation above. 0 amps, 4 speakers, amp 1 on, amp 2 on. Distortion was gone, but I lost volume. I pulled the fairing and set the gain to 7 and back to all pass.
It sounds pretty good now, but my bass and treble settings don't seem to do anything. I may adjust the gain back to 6 because some music is distorted at full volume, but it is LOUD.
I still feel like we don't have a true flat eq yet, but it is definitely better than stock. Plus, I'm all in for only $400 right now.
Btw, my bin file was 03_off stock and 02_off after the flash. I had to pay 1/2 hr labor for the flash.
curious to why you went with the infinity instead of Focal

Well if you have a flash done you will definitely lose that volume. .don't know what happens but volume goes down considerably..voltage output drops off of radio.but stock for me had to much distortion at 3 bars..(who really knows) with this new radio..

After the flash I have plenty of volume, had to turn the gain down a bit in fact.

And this is what I don't understand. Same flash but very few gets the same results ..something always different.I have been told that the D.T.machine they use to flash the bikes could have different software at each dealership. Not all updated at the same time from mothership. .and this could cause different results. .we all struggle while harley sits on their *** raking in big money for a cheap radio setup to start with. .face it.if they would have put in a jamming system we wouldn't be hear..or maybe if I had better hearing. .just sick of it
