Id say wait also. I have BT titans in the front pods now. Just did the cycle sounds magic boxes and now they're clear and crisp all the way up to volumes my ears can't handle. No distortion at all.
So I just installed the magic box on my 14 sgs . I'm running pbr300x2 and infinity kappa 62.11i speakers . I installed the speakers inside the pod and ran a wire from the cigarette lighter to the amp
All I can say is WOW what a difference. Before magic box I had my gain at 5 hertz around 120 I had my radio at full blast and it wasn't loud enough for me. After magic box I can set my gain all the way up and have my volume half way and it's very loud and clear. I set my gain around 10 (was nervous leaving it at 11 and end up blowing some, I may be wrong ??)
Overall I am extremly happy and can't wait to blast tunes on the way to Laconia.
I never got my hu flashed so I can not speak for which is better .
Thanks again for all the info and help I have been given on this forum and if anyone has questions I'll be more than happy to help .
DId you have to mod or drill out the speakers at all to fit in the pods and what grills did you use? I'm looking at this exact set up and I really appreciate your feedback. This sounds like the best set-up for the money, now I just have to decide if BT speakers would be worth spending double the price for...
Did the magic boxes help the Alpines too? How are the Alpines doing so far?
The magic boxes helped a lot. No more distortion. The Alpines are NOT as good as the kickers were bass wise, but they seem to be able to handle the higher power and volumes better. Part of me wants to try the kickers again with the magic boxes installed, but the techie in me knows better. They can't handle the power that my amp is putting out.
Well I'm probably going to end up with the same system you have since I will be using the 4180 also, but I am waiting for the 7.1's in the fairing. It's going to be late July before I start ordering parts so that should be plenty of time to see if the Alpines hold up. Thanks for being the tester and saving the rest of us a lot of trouble and money..sure wish we could get some BT's in the rear pods.
As I stated before Sidecar cycles made adapter rings for my Rear Pods and my lowers on my Rushmore bike.

Really the only "new" Rushmore specific product they're releasing soon (7/1/14) is the proprietary bracket they designed from scratch to replace the speaker pods in the Rushmore batwing fairings. The bracket allows you to mount they're 7.1 Titan (HAT) speakers and loose that shitty speaker pod for good. So really while they are going to sell it as a package (2 Titan 7.1s with the bracket) the only new equipment is the bracket. Bill is quite curious about the magic boxes also and asked me to call and fill him in on the performance of said after I get them installed on my bike. Which I will gladly do.
The only other thing in aware of that they are working on is a solution to the DSP conundrum (software wise) and getting a set of 6.5s into the rear pods. From what I gather, it seems that Bill has surmised the only way to do so is to design and release a custom set of replacement pods for the new Rushmore bikes. He's told me the only way to get a decent set of speakers (such as their titans) or others, is to replace the pod altogether. The stock pods are just to restrictive on depth. Also the stock switches therein make mounting a full size speaker impossible. He says they've tried many custom adapter rings but they're ugly and intrusive to the passengers space which is a no go. So we'll just have to wait and see what he comes up with in the future.

The rear pod rings look like they might let us use the BT 6.5's but not sure about the 7.1's. Does you passenger ever complain about the speakers being pushed in too close to them? Also I don't see the front lowers adapters.
Hopefully this helps to see what I've put on my 2014 Rushmore Bike. V-Twin/Sidecar custom built adapters using my bike for all areas, including 6x9 Lid Speakers on a CVO. Cutom grills (2 designs).
