i did not have to make any modifications to the pods or the speakers and i did not have to change my grills.
i rode 1500 miles this weekend 80mph on cruise control up to laconia and i had no problem hearing my music. in fact the guy riding behind me on his sgs with stock speakers have to move to the back of the line becuase he could not hear his music since mine was so loud once we got off the highway.
for $400 (amp, speakers, magic box, wiring) i am very happy with the upgrade and it was very simple to install.
if you need further help let me know
Did you get a chance to stop by the J&M Booth while at Laconia to compare your bike with theirs? Just curious how they stacked up against each other.
Thanks, your info has really helped. I want an upgrade, but don't want to get into a lot of drilling and modification work. For the $$$, this sounds like a perfect set up. Thanks again!
Went to Soundcustomz in Sioux Falls, SD Had Focal KRC165 and Focal 5x7 in saddlebags with Arc Audio 4 Channel. All I have to say is WOW! Unbelievable sound quality.

i called cycle sounds while i was instalilng the magic box last night because i had a couple questions and the guy was happy to help. very good customer service from my expirence.
if your thinking about getting an amp and speakers and the HU requires a flash just get the magic box and be done with it. took all of 5 minutes to hook everything up.
Sorry, but I'm new to this thread. There are 68 pages and I am trying to go through them all. Kinda tuff. Lol. But what is this magic box that you keep talking about and where can I buy one?
Found the magic box you were talking about. Just curious as to what after market wire you used? Was it a kit you ordered for your amp or did you you just buy misc wires for what you needed? I don't want to cut and start splicing into my factory wiring. I would rather use plug and play harnesses if I can find some.

i have a pbr 300x2 amp the magic box plugs right into the input harness that comes with the amp.
you will need to run a remote wire from the amp ( i ran the wire from the amp and used a wire tap to tap into the cigarette lighter)
My Hawg Wired system does sound pretty awesome.
I'm waiting for the Magic Box to come and then hopefully it will sound even better!
The lower adapters had to be made so big so I could fit the big magnet of the Hawg Wired Speakers in with the rads.
Mine is all plug and play. I don't use a waterproof mesh for the grills as the speakers are marine grade.
