Do you pics of the install? How does it look? Any disadvantages to going this route!
Thanks!

But everything works, inluding the hand controls. Overall not too difficult of a job. With this head unit, the biketronics 2180 amp and speakers, I am more than happy. And without having to use saddlebag speakers. All for around $300 and noore stupid flashing the radio and the other hd nonsense.
I can't post pictures on here for SD ome reason. I love it and didn't get the check engine light. Dremelling the faceplate didn't bother me because the radio has the decorative trim that hides it. Personally I think it sounds amazing and have no intention of going back.
I had my 15 SGS flashed to 0 amps and 4 speakers amp 1 amp 2 on. Then installed my system Hertz hdp4 amp and Hertz hsk165xl speakers. It sounds good with the bike not running but once bike is started it is very different like the eq is changing. When i ride it its like it changes eq when get above forty very weird. If I have my bike running with radio playing and turn straight to accessory radio shuts off for split second then come back on and sounds way better. Anybody else having this issue.
Well, here's an interesting new wrinkle for the whole infotainment aftermarket flash vs. HD software update debacle. I have the formerly RF recommended flash (Post 1692 in this thread and no longer on the RF website.....) with the PBR300X2 and Infinity Kappas in my '14 SGS. I was 'ok' with the sound and volume. I took the chance and updated to 1.19.0 the other day and rode it for the first time this morning. Holy Crap! Louder, clearer, richer. Still very little bass and treble adjustment and no automatic volume control but I can live without that. Oh, and still no AM reception and poor FM but I've been liveing with that through the last several software updates and before I installed the amp..... So fellow audio geeks.....neener neener!!

Nothing...Not a damn thing with these radios are the same...14 limited. I had that flash and Seems the new flash works better for me and it has all the functions working. .I will say one thing I had to pull the 50 amp fuse for something else and when I put it back in the radio actually sounded better almost like it needed a reset after the software update just too weird...
I have just ordered 2 sets of Infinity Kappa 62.11i speakers for my 2014 Ultra. I heard enough to know which speakers to get but what I do not know if what I will need to install them?
Will I need adapters for the front speakers? Which ones and is there a need to get rid of the speaker pods? (Dont know whats available)
The rear I thought I saw someone mention they had a clearance issue, so not sure what will be needed there as well.

Thank you,

For the friends you will need to get different grills, the stock ones don't give clearance. As for the pods I'm out of mind between the speaker grill in the pod, some have mounted them inside the pods. You can get rid of the pods if you buy the BT brackets for about 200 bucks a set.as I have a street glide I don't know about the rear clearance issues but I did read that adapter needed to be done.

After the 1.19 upgrade I noticed only until I powered the radio OFF than on did anything change. The stock radio and speakers actually sound pretty awesome at hwy cruising speeds with riders behind me giving me compliments how great it sounds with the latest update. I still notice that it goes to radio on start up and not to the song left off on the USB drive. The AVC seems to be working but not a real drastic lowering of sound and still have to manually lower it at red lights. A friend with a 14 Limited also could not believe how great the stock system sounded. Thinking twice about needing to even add an amp or better speakers. Seems the supplier and Harley are really working on it and going to perfect it with every update.

Do you think its safe to say you can install an amp and speakers (only up front no rears) and just have the 1.19 update no dealer flash or magic box and be ok? Has anyone tried that yet?

I have tried going back to the stock flash with the 1.19 and after market amps..did not work for me..pop a speaker matter of fact.
