The problem is with each software update HD releases for the infotainment system it changes its functionality with the flashes. The original Rockford flash instructions worked perfectly on the specific software version loaded on the infotainment system at the time they published, turning amps off and choosing 8 speakers disabled the DSP for all outputs. later when HD released the 182 or 183 update this changed and turning amps off left DSP intact and dropped output voltage to even lower levels with amps turned off, so it was found turning amps on was better but then it was critical to find the right eq file to give the least amount of Digital Signal Processing which kills your bass and treble response. With the 19.x release of infotainment software it's so new that not enough different scenarios have been tested to identify the best choice. So no one can really give the best instructions without sitting with the digital tech tool and doing trial and error for a few hours. So the problem with this design for people like us is if you wanted to use the stock radio with the integration features you face additional expense with each update you load, which you may want to load to fix some other issue like Nav or Bluetooth.
This is why I'm determined to go aftermarket so I can control all aspects, I just have to be patient until the double din kit gets made so I can go with the head unit I want. The reason that's taking longer is even though the face opening is double din, behind is really more of a single din because of a cross brace. The kit will actually replace the bracketing system to eliminate that brace kind of like what Biketronics did when they replaced the pods with brackets for front speakers. But again I'm patient I've been waiting on voodoo bike works promise of 14 lids for over a year since they started saying, "they should be ready any day now", at this point hog pro may be ready sooner so I may go that way.
We have a flash procedure that seems good on the 18.3 and 19 firmware, at least for the guys that have done it so far. It gives you a fader as well as bass and treble. We have only had a handful of guys try it so not 100% yet but it seems good. Any feedback from guys that try it would be great.
Under the Speakers tab:
1. Choose zero in the select number of amps drop down box.
2. Check the box for zero amps, 4 speakers - Upper Fairing/Rear pods.
Under the Options tab:
1. Check the yes boxes for Amp One and Amp Two installed.
2. Choose other options (CB etc.) as needed.

Chose all 4 because I'm fairly sure if you only chose 2 it may likely disable the rear outputs on the radio completely requiring yet another flash if you do ever decide to add additional speakers.
I just left the dealership and I don't have any bass/treble/fade control and still have bad distorton from bass. This was my third time trying to get this thing flashed.
