try turning off both the CB radio and the GPS system ,,,,,,
if one or those fixes the problem ,,,,,, then turn off the AUDIO from the GPS or turn the CB squelch to maximum, to allow them to be on, but not randomly cut the system on and off ,,,,,,

you may have GPS on and the volume turned down, GPS volume is independent of Radio Volume.. If that is the case it will interupt the radio and with GPS turned down it will not be heard. Turn off GPS like John suggested or next time the AUDIO cuts out, immediately raise the volume and see if the GPS is giving directions.
