Ok, for those of you thinking of running the magic box and a RF T400x2AD or 4AD, cycle sounds now has a blurb on their product page for the magic box stating that if you plan on using a Rockford T series amp, you need a special line level shifter and to email them. So that's what I did. Maybe if they know or have a better magic box for the Rockford amps, it will make my system sound even better. I will keep everyone that cares updated.
Here's a different approach. Was chatting with a fellow on a FB Group and, he has a 14 SGS and he mounted his speakers on the inside of the pods! That made it possible to use the stock grills also. Said he was using PolK DXI651

Interesting....time will tell on how that will work lout for him. I haven't had my pods off in while, but I don't see how he would have done that without modifying the pods. If my memory serves me, the mounting ring wouldn't pass through the hole in the pod, therefore he would have had to cut it. That being said, there also needs to be enough clearing around the speaker for the cone to move. If thats making contact anywhere on that pod, it will kill it quick. Also I hope he not running a moderately powered amp with those speakers...they aren't very stout.
I don't mean to be a debbie downer here, but if this was a viable mounting option, I would think that Biketronics, Hawg Wired, Cycle Sounds, J&M, Bagger Nation and the like would have figured that out already....
It's the "how to" for resetting your HD Boom Box Infotainment system to a flat eq curve for use with aftermarket amps. (Requires a visit to your dealer). I'd encourage anyone wanting to try this to print it out and bring it with you to the dealer.

Todd-your take on this???
I have to agree.. I had my pods off twice before installing the Focal's and trying other's and no way was a speaker being mounted inside the pod's. That is as you noted Monty without modifying them.

Line driver is what it sounds like to me. Nothing special there

I too don't see how this is possible without destroying the "structure" of the pods.
Those speakers won't hold up to much power for sure.

Monty, this agree's with what Soundz Customz also found works best when installing an aftermarket amp. Seems several are coming up with the same conclusion. Tell me will you be still installing the magic box if you use this flash configuration? To me I might think its not needed since this flash setup removes the EQ curve that the magic box is doing as well.. Thoughts?

I will be installing the magic boxes (if they ever get to me...). I am currently running the stock flash (4 speakers, no amp) so there is an EQ curve to speak of; but I'm not going to run to the dealer to have them set the curve to flat like the Fosgate link says to just yet. Once I install the boxes I'll see what I have. Then the next time I'm at the dealer I'll see if they'll let me come in the shop with them and see what the flat EQ flash does if anything. I just don't want to take it there just so that so they can charge me the minimum for a 10 minute job. If HD didn't keep these files under wraps I would just get a digital tech of mine own! Yeesh, for the amount of tweeking I do it wouldn't be a bad investment.
Has anyone actually opened up a magic box to see what is inside of it? I mean just from the looks of it, it looks like any other $10 line output converter that you can buy. I was a professional car audio installer for 10 years so I am skeptical about a lot of this motorcycle audio equipment. I do know it is more challenging with a smaller battery and less of a charging system than a car has. Also the open air environment does nothing but hurt sound quality. I am thinking about doing the JL HD 600/4 amp, if it will fit, and the JL C5 coaxial speakers on my SGS
