I've been planning for a couple months to upgrade my '14 SG with the RF PBR 300x2, Infinity Kappa 62.11is, and the Magic Box. However, I just ordered lower fairings, and I want to be able to add lower fairing speakers in the future. Am I going to be able to add speakers to this system, or do I need to look at changing amps. If so, what amp?
after the upgrade 2 infinity kappas and jl400/4, and having the HU changed to 8 speakers and both amps off it still sounds flat. even after messing with the bass and treble settings it still sounds flat. any suggestions?
I have the same problem with my Rockord Fosgate and Infinity Kappas. No Bass!
It gets loud but the bass setting on the boom has absolutely no effect on getting any base out of the unit.
I am going to pull the fairing and mess with the amp settings to see if that helps. I already have them set at almost max, about 8 out of 10.
I have my filters set to full so it shouldn't an amp setting I do need to update the software but not sure if its going to change my amp and speaker settings. maybe the software update will help?
If you have a 14 or newer and do anything aside from simply changing speakers, you need to have the head unit flashed to disable the HD DSP features otherwise when you connect an amp to it, it will sound like crap.
With the exception of the J&M amp (JMAA-3600 series). Is that correct?
Ok, so sorry if any of this is repetitive stuff, this thread is a monster. I have a 14 SG with stock HU, fairing speakers and have added the HD boom saddlebag lids and speakers. I want to add the J&M Rokker fairing speaker kit and J&M Performance Series 4-CH 360w Amp. With this amp, I do not need the HD flash, is that correct. Also, is there any problem with combining the J&M products with the HD boom Speakers in the saddlebags? Are they plug and play with the amp. For that matter, they claim perfect plug and play with the 14-15 models, can anyone confirm this from a recent install? I would also like to know if anyone has tried the J&M with an internal fairing antenna. I have read some posts that say the class D amps will not work with internal antennas. The amps produce too much EMI.

that is correct. the amp has a programmable DSP chipset in it and John will assist you in obtaining the correct DSP download.

the J&M kits are 100% plug n play. As far as the BA speakers on that amp, well let me just put it this way. They'll have a very short life-span.

SOME, NOT ALL Class D amps are known to cause interference, not cause interference, or simply take FM out altogether. It's a gamble but J&M and Biketronics both say their amps don't interfere. I personally can't say for sure either way. The internal antenna thing, again it's going to be hit or miss.
