Ultra - I had it flashed when the magic box was in to the RF recommendation (amp 1 - no, amp 2 - no, and 8 speakers), no change, then had it re-flashed to the actual setup ( 1 amp, 2 speakers), no change, then had it flashed back to the RF recommendation . That is where it is at right now.
I played with the gain and frequency with the fairing off, radio on, and could never get a decent amount of bass out of it. I got a little more but not much. Before this when playing with the bass level control, there was no hear-able difference between -06 and +6, now i can at least feel a little bass.
Dont know if it is the limitation in the speakers or not. This is the first motorcycle that i have put an amp in but have been using them in cars for years. I am used to installing an amp and feeling the pop in the bass and volume. On the bike i have the volume bump but not the bass.
I was hoping taking the magic box out would help but, as stated, no difference (at least to me).
Wondering if i should try the HD speakers with the RF amp?

Default MM 651 Upgrade

On the 2014 SG will I have to use any adapter rings for mounting or just mount them straight to the pods? Also, how did you guys get the audio input into the amp?

any 6.5" or 6.75" speaker will mount directly to the pods. Now if you want to keep stock grills, you'll need to pull the pods apart and mount the speakers on the inside of the pod to provide for enough clearance of the stock grill. otherwise you'll need to upgrade to the boom audio grills.

most amps have speaker level inputs. If that's what you have for an amp (no mention of it) then simply take your existing HD speaker wires and tie them into the inputs for the amp.

Great info Ultra! Thank you! I plan on using the boom grills so I don't have to cut into the pod. I have a RF PBR 300x2. If I understand correctly, I just cut the input wires before the rca's and then connect it to the factory speaker wires correct?

I've been going through this huge thread looking to see if J&M offers a full Ultra Rokker package including the amp and speakers that might price out better then trying to buy them individually. Probably not, but figured I'd ask as I can't find anything like that on their web site. Or maybe there's a promo code that helps. Can't fault a guy for trying to save some money, but get it if there's not something like this.

Default RF PBR 300x2

I just called Rockford Fosgate today. They told me to cut the wires before the RCA's and connect them to the radio. Now that problems is solved, here are my next problems..

How did you guys affix the amp inside your fairing?

Where did you connect the remote wire?

I think I will be ready to install after I figure these things out.

make sure you connect + speaker wire to + speaker input wire.

set it on top of the head unit with velcro. I wrap a zip tie around them for good measure.

with speaker level inputs you don't use the remote wire. The inputs sense the voltage coming off the speaker output leads of the head unit and turns the amp off and on as needed.

Default Thinking about upgrading 2014 FLHTK speakers and putting a amp in need advice

I have been reading through all these pages and pages and pages of info and all i can say is wow. I have been looking at J&M system but my gosh is it pricey. My questions are simple whats your opinions on J&M Rokker kit vs going with Rockford Fosgate amp and say some 6.75 JL audio speakers. IF you have amp and speakers that you got else where what model speakers and amp did you get and why?It would be nice if we could get a sticky thread going with say 4-5 amp and speaker combos that people have put in the new 2014 bikes. Thanks
