On a 2014 SGS do I need to flash the HU back to stock before installing a BT LL? The dealer flashed the unit a while back.
I am running xbr300x2 with Kappa's 62.11i, after installing the BT LL the sound is worse than without it, I did a radio reset as recommended by BT and play with the gain freq still sound is very flat with no bass at all.
This is what everyone is saying. ..Stock flash with the line leveler. .1.19.0 software. ..It's what I have gone to..I did try other software and 1.19.0 is the best I have heard from mind.. not as good as the previous year models but the best I've heard from my 2014.
Sitting still it does seem to have more bass than riding. I
turned the treble all the way down and bass all the way up and adjusted my crossover on the amp along with the gain. Am I hundred percent happy (no) but it's better than I have had yet out of this (POS) radio ... and I say that because I have spent twice as much money on this one as I did on my 2012 and have half the quality of sound.. live and learn

Thanks for the reply, I guess is back to the $tealer to get the HU flash.
It is frustrating that we, the consumer that purchased this item can't do a simple thing such as replacing the speakers and having decent sound without having to rely on the dealer to perform some sort of upgrade/downgrade in order to do so and get charge for it.

I know and do agree that most do Charge . But I have to give it to my dealership. They have flash my radio on numerous occasions and never charge me a dime. always very helpful with this whole cluster or anything else . .A little plug for Macon Harley Davidson. .

Now that's economics, give away the simple and quick service to get you back with a smile on your face and money in your pocket for the expensive stuff. That's how to run a business.

Cannot argue that point because it does bring you back

Same set-up for over two years now, solid, but want a newer upgrade head unit with XM radio....Any suggestions???? Thanks.
Check out the Kenwood KMR-D765BT and the KDC-X998 both are XM ready. The KMR is a new Marine model that has a lot of the same features as the X998 for a better price.
I'm thinking about adding the JL Audio Fix 86 sound processor based on a quick opinion I got from another Rushmore Street Glide rider. Unfortunately, I didn't get to ask all the questions I wanted to ask. Has anyone here added a sound processor and ditched the line leveler? I was mostly wondering if the software version or flash made any difference. I'm thinking the processor actually fixes the same things that were attempted to be fixed by with the line leveler and flash.
