HD screwed everyone up here by relocating the passenger controls higher in the pods. As 4nic8 stated, you'll need to use a spacer (these usually come with most speakers). No way you'll get BT or Hertz speakers back there. Simply not enough room and magnets are too large. You could probably take a chance with Polk MM651, J&M, or dare I say it, Boom Audio. Something like the Kappa 62.11i with the 1/4" spacers that come with them would work also.
Yea HD sure did. I'm using the Polk MM651 there now for the time being. Just trying to see what else folks have tried. I have the Kappa 62.11i up front but when I tried to put them in the pods even with the spacer they still wouldn't fit. Maybe I wasn't doing something right if you are saying they will fit.
I just installed the 'new' Hogtunes Gen-3 6.5 inch speakers for my 14 SG well worth it.
got for $130.oo & free ship. a little louder, better bass, MORE clarity, and they are AMP ready.
The last piece of my system should arrive Monday, so I plan to start wiring up the amp Monday morning with hopes of having it done and just waiting for the UPS man to bring the speakers by Monday afternoon. I've seen plenty of comments about how difficult some of the screws are to get off, so I'm asking from those that have done it "what is the best method or tool to get those hard to reach screws on the speaker pods"? I haven't cracked open the fairing yet, but I know it's going to be easy to get the fairing off and then a pain in the @$$ to get the pods off. Any ideas are welcome, and I'll share pictures and my opinion of the sounds when I'm done.
Well,I just ordered the Infinity Kappa 62.11i, Cycle Sounds magic box, Fosgate PBR 300x2 and an amp mounting bracket from Amazon for my 2014 SGS. The standard budget build according to all of the post I have been reading.
I am looking forward to better sound and I am just under $500 for all the components. It better put a smile on my face!
I just did this exact install. After lots of fiddling it is still not right. The system is loud and clear but no bass.
I did the RF recommendation for the dealer flash (SOLUTION:
The Harley-DavidsonŽ dealer can connect your audio system to a diagnostic system. Set AMP 1 and AMP 2 to No and select the 8 Speakers option. Once completed, flash (save) the system settings.)
I also have the cycle sounds magic box. Maybe that is the problem???

If you have the magic box (s) installed there is no need for the flash
If you have the flash done, there is no need for the magic box (s)
If you have both done, then that's likely your issue.
Thanks UN. Do you have any idea on what to tell the dealer to change the settings to undo the flash?
I am not sure where it was b4 they change it to amp 1 "no", amp 2 "no" and "8 speakers".
