Well, speaking from experience with the Rokker, Polks, Pioneers, and one other brand, I can say that I am very happy with the Rokker system. I ended up with the Pioneed TS-D6902R in my bags and as of this saturday at one of the bike nites, my Rokker/Pioneer system held its own in a couple of parking lot battles. The biggest takeaway from it all is that I didnt have to turn my aftermarket stereo up past half volume in order to get everything to really sound off. And a lot of my buddies were more than impressed with what was coming from my scoot. Now, what I have noticed is that a lot of people dont take into consideration the genre of music that they listen to compared to everyone else. I rarely ever listen to anything rock and roll or heavy metal. About 95% of my music is Soul, Hip Hop, R&B, and a ton of old school. Based on what I listen to, my sound system sounds perfect to me, and thats with the Rokkers included.

I put a call into Biketronics onFriday with regards to their BT4180 Amp. Their support guy is at this point notadvising to use their BT4180 Amps in the 2014 Street Glide Specials becausethey still need to figure things out with respect to the DSP the BOOM! Radiosput out. He said at the moment they are working on speakers and he didn't havea date to give me as to when an Amp would be available for the 2014 modelbikes.

Perhaps the title of this threadshould be renamed "For 2014 models only". I realize that Biketronicshas great stuff for pre 2014 bikes. Butin their own words, not yet for 2014’s.

The original thread owner does owna 2014 so I can only assume he's looking for advice on this year’s bike.

Cheers,
Chris

PS
The company all 2014 Harley owners should be angry withis Harley for not sharing the DSP info with aftermarket stereo manufactures. Or at the least make it so the radios willoutput a signal that doesn’t go through their processor.

Years ago Microsoft added virus software to their operatingsystem and shutout other companies from being able to install their Anti Virussoftware. Microsoft lost the battle and had to change itso they could. Forcing people to usetheir product is not right clearly.

Could you imagine if you could only buy OEM car parts andno aftermarket? We’d all be broke. Orbroker!

That's great to hear about your system!

I do see however that you fail to mention anything about Biketronics in your assessment. Having heard and played with the Rokker and the Biketronics side by side, I can personally say that you cannot beat the Biketronics for the price compared to the Rokker. The new Biketronics 7.1's are phenomenal. Their 6.5's are awesome as well.

*** I am fully aware that my comment above will very likely mysteriously disappear just as any other comparison reviews between Rokkers and Biketronics have in the past.

Well, I will do you a favor and keep your comment active by quoting you. Now, I personally have never heard the biketronics setup either. I was able to get the rokker system at a steal from off a show bike. Until I hear the Biketronics 7.1 side by side, I can not say or agree that it is better than a rokker that has a larger area (7.25 compared to 7.1) and specs out a little better (2 ohm 125 watt rms vs. 4 ohm 100 watt rms), and only runs about $25 more. I will say that what I have works for me and I did a write up about an hour ago that talks a little more about my experience. Also, one other thing to consider...as far as a comparison goes, it has to be apples to apples. I dont listen to a lot of the music that most harley riders listen to so I have to take that into consideration when building a system. I need a system that can handle tons of bass and thats what I focused on based on my taste in music.

Red-Line ,,,,,,

in the J&M booth today here in Daytona Beach ,,,,,,,,,,

we had an opportunity to again compare direct, the sound and performance of the B/T 7.1s with RF amp to the J&M ROKKER XX 7.25" speakers and the ROKKER XTP amp ,,,,,,,,,

the J&M ROKKERs were significantly louder, cleaner and put out more bass response than the B/Ts ,,,,,,,

I hope YOU get another chance to compare again in the future ,,,,,,,

Car audio speakers will offer a better value. Even if J&M speakers sound better than boom or hogtunes, they are physically unimpressive. John was serious about the "lite-weight" magnet

ratrod ,,,,,,,,,

my gosh, that is why we spend the extra $$$ for the neodymium magnets on the J&M speakers ,,,,,, weight savings without sacrificing sound and performance ,,,,,,,,

ever remove a batwing fairing from a Harley and see what those big heavy ferrite speaker magnets do to the vertical braces and speaker support brackets ? ,,,,,,

why would you NOT want a speaker for your fairing that is lighter in weight, but still puts out fantastic sound ? ,,,,,,,,,

I am surprised at some of you guys here on the forum, you believe that a big hunky looking ferrite magnet is somehow impressive to others, when they are buried behind your fairing shell, or inside your saddlebag so that you can be sure to rip the hinge off your saddlebag lid when you lay them open without an adequate support tether in the open position ?

YOU should go to work for B/T as a salesman if you are not already there ,,,,,,, they need you ,,,,,,,

still not convinced ? ,,,,,,do your own test again ??
Hi John,

Being that I work in the IT field, I could not be more removed from the sales field than I already am, but thank you for the vote of confidence! If I ever consider a career change in the future I'll keep it in mind!

I'll be honest though... Your own tests, videos, and demonstrations seem very convincing. Should the opportunity one day present itself to take a close look at the Rokker speakers and Amp, I will likely not say no. I am however quite happy with my current system with the BT 7.1's.
