Default Gain setting

Getting ready to hook up my new 7.1s to my s&s 4.520d, I have the gain set at the 11 o'clock position for my old polks. Is that about where it should be for the new 7.1s?

Instead of guessing, try reading this.

FWIW - I have the same SS amp and 7.1's front and back, both my gains ended up around the 1 o'clock position.

gains for head unit, amp, speaker combinations are as variable as tunes for a motor build. What mine are set at may not be what's best for you even though we're using the same equipment.

It's best to re-adjust your gains based on your ears or your DMM and the calculations. 2 ohm vs 4 ohm speakers make a significant difference in gain settings.
