Default Some sound advice needed

I recently scored some Cycle Sound 6x9 lids, and bought the Matuza vented lowers. I already have the J&M speakers in the fairing and I want to add 6.5 speakers to the vented lowers. I'm going to change out the head unit to a Sony or Alpine with bluetooth. The question is when I get ready to buy an amp, what do I need and are the J&M speakers I have in the fairing good enough to leave alone they are not 6.5's, I'm adding 6.5's in the boxes and the 6x9's in the lids. Are there any head units that sync with the handlebar controls?

Loud is good but still want it to sound decent and not just loud. Sorry so many questions. I have enough time to research and purchase the right gear because I still have to get all the parts in and get them painted but wanted to start here first so I know what I'm looking for.

You have a beautiful bike that deserves 6.5 speakers in the fairing and lowers. As a rule nobody does 5.25 speakers anymore if they are looking for quality sound.

Two Options:

1. Biketronics 7.1's in the upper fairing and Titan 2's in the lowers.
2. Infinity 62.11i's in the upper and lower fairing.

AMP: Biketronics 4180 or the Soundstream 520.D

If you get the Biketronics speakers you want the Biketronics amp.
If you get the infinity's the soundstream amp is perfect.

You will need 6.5 adaptors for the fairing speakers.

Notes: The Biketronics amp is capable of running all your speakers including the lids.
The soundstream amp has an unresolved issue with FM reception.
If you go the soundstream route you will need another amp to power the lids.
The soundstream TN2.600D would be my amp of choice for the lids.

There is a Jenson HU out there that syncs with the controls but no one on this forum has any real world experience with it yet. At least not to my knowledge. I could be mistaken. There is a wealth of knowledge on this forum, and hopefully the forum gurus will chime in. . . but that's my .02.

Both of these systems produce excellent sound quality with the proper set up. You can't go wrong with either one.

What's wrong with the PBR300x2 Amp? Not many people want to pay close to $600 for an amp. I'm not arguing with your great write up/recommedation but seems alot of folks use the speaker recommendation (I just ordered them myself) and powered with the PBR300x2. Even Bill at Biketronic agrees that the the PBR300x2 is a good choice.

Absolutely Sir!! I love the PBR300X2. . . I just wanted to keep the OP apples to apples with Biketronics products if he were to get Biketronics speakers. I've heard the Biketronics set up with the 2180 and the 4180 and it sounds amazing! Yes by all means the X2 is a great amp! I've purchased 4 of them over the years. . .lol
