Default pbr300 x 4 or ss 520

I've searched and don't see anything. But getting ready to buy an amp and not sure which way to go. This is what I'm running. 08 ultra,
Stock Hu, 4 ohm Polk in the fairing ,4 ohm memphis in tour pac, want to add speakers in lower fairings. Ive been looking at the hertz 6.5 to replace fairing and to put in lowers. Was all ready to buy the pbr300 x 4 then somebody recommend the ss. I have been trying to do some research I see the ss causes fm interference didn't see anything for the RF 300. Can any of the members here give me there opinions or experience with these 2 amps. Thanks

No contest. . . 520.D all the way! Now the X2 is a different story. Buy two X2's if FM is an issue. .

520D is a lot more power than the 300x4. As Gannicus stated, if FM is an issue for you then you're better off with 2 PBR300x2 amps. They will both fit in the fairing.

Does the pbr300 x 4 cause FM interference? I've seen with the ss amp people have been using ferrites to get rid of the interference is this the case

I wouldn't count on this correcting the FM issues if you have them. I've seen some of these amps not cause an issue at all, some lightly interfere, and some simply take out FM altogether. The Ferrite Cores came up a while back and they were tried in a couple of different setups with no help.

I tried the ferrite cores. I tried three of them. One on the power, ground and even tried one on the remote turn on wire. Didn't work for me.

Some people have been lucky and received amps that didn't block FM, and a few have even got the cores to work, but those people are the exception to the rule.

It all seems so easy until you start reading things. Maybe I'll stick with my first choice even though more expensive. JL xd400x4

I agree.. and why there are a bunch of people that contribute here to share their specific experiences.

Research a little further on the JL stuff also as it is a Class D amp. I thought I read somewhere that it too interferes with FM reception.

FWIW and to my knowledge, Biketronics and J&M are the only ones that have figured out what the deal is with the Class D stuff and corrected it.
