For those of you who have installed the infinity's 62.11i speakers in your 14 ultra limited', did you mount them from the back removing the plastic housing, or through the front removing the stock grills?
I would rather mount mine through the front but need to know the part number or link to buy the covers that fit.

Hi,
2014 Limited. I mounted the infinity 62.11i inside the plastic pod. This way it gave plenty (about 1/2 in) of space between the speaker and the grill without touching the fairing. I also got the BOOM Aluminum grill and put that one first then on top I put the fabric on, so you cant see trough. The reason I put the speaker inside the plastic pod it was that the speaker round rubber on the woofer was touching the fairing and I did not any part of the woofer touching the fairing.

i installed my speakers in my sgs inside the pods for the following reasons
1 the speaker grills were on back order
2 i heard from other people that the speaker woofer hit the fairing and might cause distortion.
so by putting it inside the pod you can the best of both worlds. you do not have to change your speaker grill so that will save you some money and you do not have to worry about the woofer hitting your fairing.
Taking the housing itself apart is the easy part. Removing the pods from the fairing is the pain....Have several combinations of ratchets, extensions, sockets, allen wrenches, swivels, etc. on hand and you will get them out. Take your time. Plan on some scrapped knuckles.
The screws provided with the speakers are too long and too small in diameter in my opinion so I used some shorter/fatter ones. I also put the supplied foam on the pods around the speakers to fill the gap a bit between the pods and inner fairing.
