Default Amp recommendation?

Hi guys,

It's very unfortunate that I can't get neither the fosgate amp nor the Polk speakers in my country. We have limited brands like, Pioneer, Alpine and Kenwood. I understand the room behind the fairing is small for big amps and I've never opened the fairing to check the space, but here I found the smallest amps available in our market, please see the sizes of each and advise which one will fit.

Pioneer GM-A3602

Alpine BBX-T600

http://www.alpine.co.uk/p/Products/b...s4216/bbx-t600

Kenwood KAC-5206

http://www.kenwood-electronics.co.uk...-5206/details/

And regarding the speakers, is it necessary to use 2 ohms speakers or 4 ohms will be fine?

Quick replies are highly appreciated.

Regards, Mak

You really would want a class D amp to ensure it's not going to overtax the electrical system. None of the amps your listing are class D.

Speakers; as long as your amp is capable of handling a 2 ohm load, you are usually better off going with a 2 ohm speaker to get the most out of your amp. I would suggest to first choose the amp you want, then choose speakers that will work with that amp.

Next would be what type of budget you're looking at. If your budget has a high ceiling and you want to just jump straight to one of the market leaders. Biketronics has a contact number if calling from out of the US, so they may ship out of the US. For a more budget conscience setup, you can check and see if Sonic Electronix ships out of the US, it looks like they do. Then search for car audio > car amplifiers > Class D amplifier.

Good luck with your decisions, I know that I tossed mine back and forth for a long time.
