Default Where to run Oil Feed/Return on Turbo Setup

Just as the title says. For you guys with turbos, where does the oil feed and return for the turbo come from?

I figure at least one of these can come from the fittings on the oil filter boss on the motor (i have an 07 96B and there are two ports already drilled tapped and pipe-plugged).

Thanks

Well I found the Trask installation manuals and their kit has a T for the feed line that goes in with the oil press light sender (thats the way i usually feed the turbos I have done on cars.

For the return they give you a new cam cover or a fitting you install into the cam cover and drain the oil to there. Makes sense and should be very simple to deal with.

Just do what Trask does goe into your oil filler hole make adapator for it with some piping at a hard ware store. its not hard. drill tap set.....and pipe. Your dip stick wont read right.

Here are his inst...

Unbolt starter solenoid form left front frame down tube, move away from oil fill hole.
•
Remove oil fill dipstick from the crankcase and install the 35mm filler adaptor for the

turbo oil drain hose. Tighten adaptor by hand and align opening toward right side of
bike. The dipstick will be retained but needs to be remarked. (See Photo 8) Measure
35mm or 1 3/8 inches down from the full mark and cut a grove in the stick this is now
your full mark. Position the fitting slightly toward the engine to keep the drain hose
away from the exhaust.

I hope this helps.....

Just curious, do you always put oil coolers on the turbo bikes you do?

Do you like the Harley vertical style cooler or do you use something else?

Ive been searching more and can not find an answer about those ports on the front of the engine by the stock oil filter boss. I would think you could use them to feed a cooler, but no one seems to know.

I like the vertical style one its is clean and out of the way but you may have a problem with your turbo and pipe. I think if you use them it will re direct the oil from your filter I will have to look at the HD book it will show oil flow. You can also buy the oil bracket only with out the filter and use the ports from it.
