Default Long Winter

Is it me, or is a long winter? We just cracked out of the cold snap, but IDK, this one just feels LONG.

Happy Friday.

p.s. - good game boys.

Very long, very cold! I’m thinking we got a bit soft over the last few years with the mild temperatures we’ve had. That, and I’m getting older!

It’s white Gold. Great for our economy.

People buying winter coats, boots, shovels. The Goderich Salt Mine is climbing out of a multi year slump. Drivers are getting hours with the snowplows. Fender benders giving body shops work and in some cases new car purchases. Physiotherapists are busy helping people with sore backs. Ski resorts are busy.

I’ve racked over 3,600kms on my snowmobile so far and it appears we will be sledding into April. That means winter tourism for hotels, restaurants, gas stations and attractions. Dealers are moving inventory along with accessories.

Best Canadian winter we have had in years. We get to hear from the GTA whiners about how terrible it is and they need the army to help dig them out

AND THERE ARE NO MOSQUITOS!!!👍👍

Candubrain,

Very good analysis of the winter and it's effects. I thought of most, but not all what you said....Love this >>>>they need the army to help dig them out AND THERE ARE NO MOSQUITOS!!!
My buddy has a snowmobile up near you and also said "best winter for sledding"

Wife and I go snowmobiling in the winter. This winter is making up for the last couple of winters.

Yup, best winter since 1971, shovelled the roof twice this year so far. For reference my wife is 6'1" tall

No Snowmobile here. I sink all my money into motorcycling. Ha ha. I only have so many doses of restraint.

Here in YEG, I've managed to keep the concrete exposed on the sidewalks infront of the house. After this warmup, those that didn't, you're walking on ice. I'm not saying winter is over, just a nice reprieve from the -30ş we were getting.

Trip planning for summer is in full swing.
I think this was the worst year for mods on the motorcycle. Perhaps it's time to trade 'er in then...

Wife and I are planning another trip out west again this summer. Living in Ontario it takes us 2 days just to get out of our province. Last time we were out west we didn't make it to YEG. This year we will. I find with the snowmobiles it makes the winters go by fast. We are already approaching March, and I still want more cold and snow to ride our snowmobiles. LOL!

@Stovey85 Rode from Vancouver to Halifax last summer. Ontario is a wiiiiiide one, I hear ya. I did manage my IBA Trans Canada Quest Gold. 70.5 hours. Longest day was Wawa, Ont to Halifax. 26.5 hours... I don't recommend that long of a day, but I did it. That was with a 25 minute sleep in Edmunston, NB.

Looking to do a good ride this summer, but we shall see how it comes together.

Those are definitely some long days! We went East last year as well. PEI, we did the Cabot trail, and Halifax, to Bar Harbor Maine. We rode from Bar Harbor Maine to Barrie Ontario. That was our longest ride for the trip. We were trying to get home before tropical storm Debbie came up the East coast. This year we wanted to ride to Louisianna and Texas, but with our dollar being so shitty, we will stay in Canada this year. Hopefully in the future we can get down that way.
