My brothers 95 E-glide, K&N air intake system, Thunderheader exhaust, and S&S bagger cam. 48 slow, 88 Sporty needle with 2 .036" shims and 195 main. All 3 rubber intake gaskets replaced. A/F out 3.5 turns. In Roanoke, VA. It runs very strong all the way from idle to WOT. Did plug chops at mid and WOT. Ceramic is white and ground strap is crusty white. I have always had good luck jetting but this one has me at my wits end. Any ideas?
OK, so we have established that I was unable to get a good quality pic with my cell phone. Now that we have got that out of the way... As I stated, the plugs are getting a crusty white build up on them although the jetting should be on the rich side according to what I've seen working for others. I am even more confused that it is running good considering how lean the plugs are reading. I'm afraid if we keep jetting up we are just masking a problem.
I can't help you directly, other than suggest you post in the Evo section, where our resident Evo experts hang out. Hopefully they will be able to help.
I have learned, the hard way, that the CV carb performs best with stock components. Replace the needle with the stock needle, no shims, and jet for WOT. Keep throwing main jets at it until plugs show good read; then maybe drop the MJ 1/2 size. Needle next and, unless you can get the bike on a dyno, you will have to rely on plug cuts and fuel efficiency to set needle. Then set the A/F. Forget about what Nightrider says or your previous experience and give the motor what it needs.

Jetting sounds about right. It's hard to read plugs on todays unleaded fuel. Most HD's appear lean by previous standards.
A properly jetted Harley won't show much color. The crusty white is just fuel additives. I think you're probably good to go. If it were lean, it would be missing.
