The smoke out of the pipes is black. It has to be the Thunderjet. It only does itat wot.I just might stick a smaller jet in and try it.Now that the 155" is on the road, the 124" just sits in the corner or when I need something for the 155".
RibCracker,I have a Super G on mine, but also have a 45mm HSR.I hear the Mikuni is better off idle than S&S.I wonder if there is a difference at the top end?Do you have an opinion? Dog
not having got the thing on a dyno yet to get any figures...long story but hey theres time...or having had chance to comapre it agaisnt one fitted with the Super G all I can say is the HSR is amazingly responsive. Feels like the throttle cable is contected direct to the rear wheel, there is no lag or hesitaion off of idle, pulls cleanly up thorugh the gears, but ( there always has to be a but) it does pop and bang a little on the over run, wot wiseasI have said before bike exceeds 150 MPH with forward controls and t-bars and 6'2" 266 lb rider in normal street riding clothes sat upright without any fairings,so dont think I could make it any harder for it. So to be honest I cant see how the S&S would be able to be that much better to make it worth swaping. Really need to get a zr rated tyre on the back before hitting the dyno as Idoubt it would be safe with the h rated one on now.
Thanks Ribcracker, mine is very crisp,I guess the only way to really know the difference is to put the HSR on and give it a whirl. When I do if the diffence is great I will post the results.Dog
look forward to hearing what yo find. I do admit coming from a metric background aof raod and drag racingmikuni HSRs were always weapon of choice, also being a slide as oppsed to butterfly carb , once fully open the only thing left in the air flow is the needle where as the S&S stil has the butterfly rod and the flap itself in the air stream.
