Looks like you've done more than you stated.. starting to look like a sweet roller.. who's front end is that... And now that you have the motor situated with the primary and trans, what primary ratio and secondary ratio are you going with? Looks like a 70 on the rear with a 16" rim.. is the front a 19"er...

Your right, that is a 70T pulley, but I'm going to a 65T because A) my 34 tooth belt is too short and I'm not buying another one, I already had two in my garage! The used pulley was cheaper than a new belt anyway.
I had the 70T pulley on the rigid twin cam I built that also had the ultima 6 speed transmission, and I dropped it to a 65 because I felt the highway rpm's were a bit higher than I wanted. Everything out here is miles away and the speed limits are 75 to 80, which means cruising a 90 isn't uncommon!
Also, the primary is an ultima 2" belt drive and the transmission is also an ultima 6 speed with a 32 tooth pulley.
I don't recall who made the fork tubes and sliders, but the triple tree is from Midwest motors.
Next I'm going to work on making a mount for the duel coils, then I'm going to plumb the external oil lines.
Thanks for your interest, this part of the forum doesn't get much traffic!

Ran the numbers on a gear ratio calc and if I have your primary correct, 45/71@1.5777:1. With 5th gear at 3.20:1 and 6th at 2.75:1 coupled with that 96" Shovel you should have no problem maintaining 90 mph......... Curious as to how well that front end will do @90.. 41mm?

Thanks for that info, I have to admit I'm not much good at ratios and such.
I find the raked out front ends are no problem at all. The consensus seems to be the more trail you have the more stable at speed it is, alternatively, low speed maneuvering can be tricky.
My first rigid was an atlas frame with a 42 deg. rake and I loved the hell out of it. I never had a scary moment on it and low speed maneuvering was no problem.
For me it has a lot to do with handlebar height; lower bars for me make slow maneuvering more difficult. With bars at my shoulder height I have much better control.
Front wheel is a 21" by the way

Without a doubt.... I went to a little bit bigger bars on my '77 FX and the handling is amazing... I'm right about shoulder height and it's for real... Awesome.. in fact I had it out today for a little 30-mile spin for the first time this year.. It felt freaking awesome..

Brings back memories, been a few I had to keep a running log book with pictures and a short note on what I did and why for later reference. Why they call them " Customs "

Great to have a couple more comments, if you like this one check out the other two projects I posted in the past.
None of them go very fast, time and money are factors that determine the pace.
I'm planing on going with a jockey shift on this one, which, because of extremely limmited range of motion in the left ankle, (crash), I'm having to make something heel opperated.
I will post as things progress, thanks for looking in.

I've run them out to 16" over before at speed, long as the rest of the drive trains somewhat square they do fine in a straight line Hooking the twisties is another story and it ain't fast.
