Default New Bike Couple of Questions.

Came across a deal and could not pass it up. It is an 06 has an ultima 113 with a 6 speed. My first question is about cams, I have never had a bike with big cams. This thing runs like a raped ape when you are hard in the throttle. But when I am cruising steady she lopes. does not miss but I have to keep the rpms up. Is there any adjusting that can be done to help or is going to a different cam the only option. the other thing this bike is chain drive (all my others have belt) How tight should the chain be?? Sorry for the long post thanks for any Help

NICE RIDE!! I have an Ultima 113 in my Softail too.. I had the same deal, you should probably re-jet it.. I upped the both main and slow jets and now it's great!!

when your sitting on the bike it should have an inch to inch 1/2 of movement up & down between the front and rear sprockets. Don't adjust the chain with no weight on the bike as the tension will change once it has weight added.

with a bigger motor you'll get some uneasy cruising rpms at times. The KEY is don't lug the motor in the higher gears as it puts a strain on the internals of the engine, which in turn will shorten its life.

Does it have a Mikuni carb? If so, turn the idle up just a tad to help the idle...if not re-jetting is the only solution.

I had the same issue about chain tension...came from dirt bikes with quite a bit of slack, but my rigid (not a swingarm like yours) is freakin' tight...
