Hi all. I just purchased my second bike which is a 2009 Thunder Mountain Spitfire. It has the 1200cc evo engine on it. Thus far it's been a great bike and it turns a lot of heads. It gets more attention than my 2012 Heritage. I have a few questions on it though, hopefully someone will chime in with some help.
The oil filler cap is located under the seat as opposed the right side of the bike like most HD's. What I'm trying to figure out is how do I drain the oil from the bike when doing an oil change? It doesn't have traditional drain rubber hose with the plug in it like the Sportster 1200's do? Also, when buying accessories, I was told that the fitment is exactly along the lines of the Sportster XL?
Sorry, for some reason I couldn't fit them all on one post. I'm thinking the nut that I'm pointing to in the pic is possibly a drain nut for the oil?? I don't know?? I've been all up under the bike and can't find the drain hose that clamps to the frame with the plug on it??
The pictures look like there is a hose attached to that nut to goes toward the back, is there a plug in that hose lower somewhere? It would not surprise me if that was an open fitting on the oil bag with a plugged hose.
That's it. It is at the bottom back of the wrap around oil tanks. On a softail it is on the exhaust side but on your bike I guess it is on the primary side.
