Hi all. I own a 2009 Thunder Mountain Spitfire. My bike frame obviously had some quality control issues at the factory when being built. I have researched this and have found this problem not only on my bike, but on many other Thunder Mountain motorcycles as well. Please look at your frames closely and inspect them properly. If the frame gives way during a ride, surely someone could be severely hurt or even the absolute worse, killed. Please look your bike over, please!!!
Since, I have had it repaired by a professional welder. He repaired the cracks and reinforced the frame with addititonal steel bracing. I have not painted the new repair, but can post picks after I do if interested.
Good luck all and be safe out there....

Thanks for posting this important safety issue. I will defiantly be checking mine. Have you contacted anyone at TM to see if they have had or have something for those with this problem or a safety recall on theese frames? Looking forward to seeing those pics of the repair.
I have not contacted TM. I thought they went out of buisness?
The repair turned out great. To keep costs down, I told the welder that I would paint where he welded and did the repair. I'll get it done this weekend and post the finished pics. Thanks....
