Simple Green ????
It says not to use it on plastic? That's the first time I've heard that. I guess that's what I get for not reading the label. I used Simple Green on my dirtbikes for years while I was racing motocross. It was by far the best and easiest product to use to get the caked on mud off the bike after race day. Never had a problem on the plastic. However, there's not much on a Harley that's plastic.
I have been using a product similar to Simple Green to clean the wheels and the really dirty parts of the bike. Its called Citrus Cleaner and its made by ZEP. So far it works better than Simple Green for me.

I'm lookin' for something that's as strong as Simple Green when it comes to getting the dirt off, so I don't have to wipe my paint. I've tried a few different products for use on cars, but they don't get the dirt off without wiping. My new bike is vivid black, so I want to avoid wiping any of the paint as much as possible. Simple Green seems to just make everything run off.
You cannot safely use Simple Green or any other degreaser on paint! No citric acid cleaner either. Use something intended for paint like car wash soap and water or a detailing spray.

I'd never use Simple Green on paint. It's too harsh, strips polish and leaves a dull film if not thoroughly rinsed. Ditto for dish washing soap. I only use car wash solution. It's less expensive and doesn't compromise shine.
Simple green cut 1/2 works great on wheels, engine, frame, white walls. I have used it on alloy and chrome wheels. I keep a build up of Harley glaze on the painted tins and try not to hit those. It will remove wax. If neededrewaxing is simple. Cool engine, rinse thoroughly; after you get used to this stuff, strenght can be altered for that tough grime.
