Default Boot Marks on my 07 FXD

Had the bike over a year and these marks showed up last Sunday after my ride----came from heel of my boot---tried gentle cleaning without luck,

Tips appreciated

Looks like you actually wore away some of the rough coating that they put on the cases. I have detailed a lot of bikes, but have never dealt with that type of mark on that type of case coating, almost always wrinkle black or chrome. I was wondering what your heel or other part of your foot was doing up so high above the shifter and how you never managed to do this in your past year of riding? Did you buy new boots? I see that there are a couple other scrapes on the case other than the obvious one.

I worked detailing bikes for about two years, and i found that easy off oven cleaner works really well on boot marks. spray it on let it sit for a little bit and wipe it off with a rag or brillo pad.

Make sure you test it on a hidden spot first !!!!!!!!!!!! sometimes easy off can stain certain finishes. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree that it looks like you actually wore off the finish as opposed to scratching or marking it. The more you rub on it the more finish it will take off and make it worse.
Keep reading I guess.
