when I purchased my 2018 Road Glide within two weeks after purchasing I decided to go to a two piece mustang seat. And within those two weeks it created a seat mark around the tank. So I used turtle wax rubbing compound. It removed that mark for the tank with no problem then I applied meguiar’s cleaner wax.
meguiars clay bar will do the trick, and the paint will feel better than when you bought it. clay bars are easy to use, but a lot of people are scared of them. dont be. i just took off the bag covers i had on my ultra classic and the paint was not vivid black anymore it was milky white. so i busted out the clay bar and within 15 minutes it was vivid black once again, but then again i owned a detailing place for bikes.

Clay is only going to remove stuff stuck to the paint, not imperfections. You might have removed stuff stuck to the paint from the covers but clay isn't going to remove imperfections. You owned a detail shop, come on.

yes i did, i know that clay bars only remove particals and the the only way to remove swirls and or minor scratches is with rubbing compound but there are some other ways to do this. i thought the op said he was trying to remove stuff that a seat had put on the paint. personaly dont care if you beleive me or not. man is this all you do is call out people on what they post if you dont agree with it

Its not all I do. I read a lot of the stuff on here, talk to guys off the forum, mostly about audio. Help guys polishing paint on technique, products, etc. So lots of other stuff for sure. Just don't want the people reading this to be misinformed thinking if they clay the paint its going to remove imperfections.
If using clay and rubbing compound works for you great. Use what you like.
