I just bought a sportster with a solid aluminum back wheel. It's spotted pretty bad. What's the best method to bring a shine back to it?
Sand it first then polish it or just polish it?I tried just polishing a few spots and the spots aren't coming off.If I wet sand it 1st should I use 400 grit or finer?
Have you tried polishing with Simichrome? That stuff works wonders. If sanding is necessary I'd start with something finer like 1000. Pictures might help us determine the conditon.
I've tried blue magic and mothers metal polish it makes it shine but the spots are still there.I hit a couple spots with 400 grit and it is removing it.I don't think 1000 will be rough enough.Maybe use 1000 after the 400?
Looks like someone tried using acid based wheel cleaner on it.
