Default Do you know what these "fingerprints are?"

I bought this bike from an HD dealership in march. The next day I noticed these marks on my tank. They are obviously fingerprints, but why won't they come off? If I touched the tank after they just waxed it would these kind of marks show up? It won't go away with any of the HD products I got to clean my bike! HELP Please! They are so ugly.

Factory clear is pretty thick. Pick up some Meguires Scratch-X.

You've got some serious scratches and swirls in the finish also, get yourself a multi speed orbital buffer, and some final stage polish or swirl remover. www.chemicalguys.com has some great products, I bought some final stage, and finish polish (optical i think it's called) from them to polish some swirls out of my tank, it worked great. If a good bit of polishing doesn't get those fingerprints out, don't be afraid to wet sand them out with 2000 grit sandpaper, those bad swirl marks too. Google yourself up a tutorial in scratch removal, it ain't hard. Oh, and no matter what is said, be sure to soak the sandpaper in water for awhile before sanding.
