I have not dyno'ed it yet. Last year I had Steve at GMR up in Haltom City build this out of a piece of crap motor I came up with. Finally, got it all put in frame, up and going. Money situation has lead to several start and stops on this project. I am playing with different exhausts had 2-1 v&h competition headers on it, but not really happy. Put my 2-1 with the supertrapp muffler back on. Toying with cutting the 2-1 competition pipe at the seam where it meets the muffler, to lengthen it a bit. I like loud pipes ,but these end up being right below my ear.
Guess when I finally, settle on the pipes I plan on sticking with, I will take it back to GMR and let Steve dyno it. YES,Beast it is.......
The stretched tank idea is something I have been going back and forth on. The stretched swingarm gives me room to slide back. The stock configuration always made me feel cramped in the leg room. Did not want to extend forward controls. Moving the seat back helped tremendously. When fender is figured out I want to custom build new seat to fit farther back, and then revisit tank work.
Got a set of Works shocks in rear that I am extremely happy with. The front end I have played with several set ups and needs improvement. I opted to go with the progressive monotube set up. Got them, a set of powdered black lowers, and already had a set of leftover fork tubes. Plan to put these together and swap out my chrome set. I think a blacked out frontend will ride better!
Will buy a fork rebuild kit, to have all the internals, but I need one damper or as the parts list calls it bottom pipe #46606-06. Have read a few of you guys do this mod, so maybe you got one?
