Hey everyone,
New here. Recently bought an 883 but I know I'll eventually want a Dyna to customize. There's one local I'm looking at and I was wondering what the consensus was on it. I know they are hard to find sometimes so I wouldn't want to miss out on it if so.
Here are the specs and I'll try to upload a pic tonight.
-2001 FXDXT
-20,000 miles
-2 owners
-HD quarter fairing (I believe the original FXDXT fairing since it also has the bags that seem original)
-2 stage kit
-Vance and Hines 2-1 comp header
-New tires
-New battery
-Paint is a checkered flag coloring (I would vivid black it)
-looks like it's in very good shape but I have not ridden it
Asking price $6500
Good deal? My knowledge is limited and I'm in my bike infancy. I Just know I'd love to make one of these into a club style bike if I could get a good deal on one.
That's a steal. Complete T-Sports (Working and intact original fairing, bags and suspension) are on fire right now. You could easily make money on that bike if you just flipped it. Put some love into it and tasteful mods and maybe double your initial investment. Or buy it, mod it how you like and enjoy likely one of the the best bikes H-d ever put out. Any pics?
Great price. to check and see if it is the stock fairing (they are hard to find and sell for upwards of $1000 on ebay) look and see if there is an adjuster to raise and lower the windshield.
I could buy that and sell it here for $10k in about 5 minutes.
Yeah definitely not the stock bags and fairing. That paint is....special lol. Wouldn't pay a penny more than $6500 in this case. Still worth that all day though.
Don't see the bag mounts on the back fender. If it don't have the fairing lugs on the trees, I'd say it was an FXDX. The serial # should confirm model.....
Check.
Its listed as a Super Glide sport now actually.
So just a regular FXDX? I guess with a Harley 1/4 Fairing? Since the bags aren't original either.
I could care less about bags etc I just thought it was unique if it was a FXDXT.
The guy has had it listed for months here but I know the FXDX, FXR set ups are less wanted here in the southeast compared to the west coast where they are more popular.
Im going to talk to the guy some and see what he will let it go for. A new seat and black paint would make this bike pretty close to the club style I really like.
What are some of the original parts that make the bike special to be looking for? I know the original shocks are a big part of it.
Also,
I know the bikes run for 100k miles in some cases.
Any worries starting with 20k?
What parts should be really checked having 20k on the bike already?
