I just bought new stainless spokes and nipples. I need to check to see if they used stock length spokes or some other length.

So what kind of money are we talking to lace and true up a new wheel ?

It was $250 for new stainless spokes, nipples, lace and true. The spokes also appear to be longer than stock, so I think it's still laced in the correct way (stock) and not the modified way as shown in the tutorial.
