I like the look and feel of my stock bars so far, but definitely feel that I have a longer than desired reach in tight turns. Before I change bars I was thinking of getting some new risers to see if that would help.
Should I be getting the same height but curved risers to bring the bars in towards me a bit or keep with straight risers but slightly longer and then tilt the bars inward a little?
If I go with curved risers that would seem a little strange with mini-apes wouldn't it? Anyone have pics of this?
Not really. It's about comfort.
I prefer the risers with some pull back to em. Probably won't go over 4 inches so the pull back will be slight but helpful.

Great thanks, it seems like every bike I've seen with apes had straight risers so wasn't sure if pullback risers were recommended.

They are right in line with the forks. I haven't tilted them as I thought that from a handling perspective they were supposed to be parallel to fork line. Guess that's not necessarily the case?
I use 6" curved pullbacks. 6" up and 4" back. That's about the max for stock bars and cables. I dropped a leather toolbag on at the base. It's convenient and looks good. Doesn't make the bike look like it has "polio" at all, as some have suggested here.
Produces a very comfortable riding position.
