Default Tuner/Exhaust question?

I have a 2005 Super Glide Custom (EFI) with a Thunderheader and tuned with a V&H Fuelpak. I bought it with all these upgrades from a private seller.

It runs good and sounds good, but I think it can be tuned better.

Now...I purchased a Bassani 2-1 exhaust, my question is do I have to remap it, re-tune it, etc? Is the V&H Fuelpak good enough or should I get a different tuner (i.e. Screaming' Eagle Pro Tuner, TTS, etc?

You might have to change some settings on the fuel-pak, but if you can sell it and re-invest in something with a little more flexability then I'd recommend that since apparently one must be lucky to get what they need from a FP.

Call vance and hines and tell them what you have. They may or may not be able to give you a setting. Most of their settings are for there exhausts. There are better tuners out there but I believe it depends on what you want to get out of your bike. Dealer here is charging upwards of 2k for stage ones. That's not worth the gains if you ask me. I run a fuel pak with no trouble and I would recommend v&h and will continue to purchase thier products.

A Fuel-Pak is not really a tuner per say. Get a S/E, PV, or TTS if you're planning on doing any upgrades to the motor in the future. If all you have on your bike is the basic Stage 1 set up, a Fuel-Pak with the appropriate download or "Flash" should suffice for your bike.

You will need to adjust the fuel pak. You have to email V&H your setup or call Custer service and tell them what you have. They will give you the settings. If you would have their exhaust it's as easy as looking it up. But other brand exhausts need customized settings. They should be able to give you one to try and then help you tweak it from there. No download or flash as fuel pak is a piggy back unit.

If all the bike has is different pipes, don't waste your money on a tuner... unless you're gonna change your intake and then cams.

That being said... if you know you will do that in the future, get the TTS.
